Level II Formation -
Course 2-199
The Guild of the Good Shepherd is please to announce
a new Level II Formation Course, which covers the Catechesis of
the Good Shepherd program for children aged 6 to 9 years.
As soon as you are sure that you would like to participate
in this class, email your intentions to the course coordinator,
Julie Fitzgerald (see her information below). If there are fewer
than 12 registrants, we won't be able to hold the class -- in
that case, your "nonrefundable" deposit will be cheerfully
refunded.
Course Schedule, Location & Dates: This
course will be held at St. Anne's in the Field, 147 Concord Road,
Lincoln 01773 (Phone: 781.259.8834) on Saturdays from 9 AM to 4
PM. The dates for each class are:

Sept. 13, Oct. 11, Nov. 8, and Dec. 6
2009
Jan. 10, Feb. 7, March 7, April 4, May 2 and June 6
Formation Leaders: The Rev. Joyce Scherer-Hoock.
The Rev. Joyce Scherer-Hoock is the Director of
Spiritual Formation at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Lincoln, MA.
Joyce has an Masters of Divinity as well as an undergraduate degree
in Biblical Studies. She has been an Episcopal priest for 18 years.
Before ordination, she taught high potential learning-disabled
adolescents at Landmark School. She loves material making and
often works "Catechesis presentations" into sermons
and adult classes. The National Association of the Catechesis
of the Good Shepherd certifies Joyce as a Level 1, 2 and 3 Formation
Leader. She and her husband, Robert, have two teenage daughters.

Registration: In order to register, please
complete the course's
brochure (click on it). Send your registration form and a check
for the $75 fee. Please make it payable to 'The Guild of the Good

We will send, via e-mail, confirmation of your registration,
directions and other information.
Half of tuition balance is due at the first class
and it is nonrefundable after the first class is completed.
The remaining balance is due before the course is
half over.
We will also send directions to Lincoln, a syllabus
by session date, and suggestions for your preparation.
Course Fee:
The course fee is $600. Members of the Guild as well as multiple
registrants from the same parish receive discounts on tuition. Please
see the 'Info & Policies' link for more information.
If you or your parish is not a Guild member for 2008,
you can join by filling out a registration form (from the Membership
link) and include it with a separate check for membership. (Again,
this will give you a lower tuition.) Suggested donations are: Individual-$25,
Parish-$50.
If you have previously taken this course and wish
to take a make-up class, you will be charged $25 per class. Please
contact the course coordinator if you plan on taking such a class.
Certification: The Association of the
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (www.cgsusa.org) offers a nationally
recognized certification for those who complete the all sessions
of the Level 1 Formation Course and have their album pages reviewed
by the formation leader. Additional fee, $35- also a separate check.
