Level I Formation - Course 1-Fall09

The Guild of the Good Shepherd is please to announce a new Level I Formation Course, which covers the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program for children aged 3 to 6 years.

As soon as you are sure that you would like to participate in this class, email your intentions to the course coordinator, Emma Staatz (see her information below). If there are fewer than 12 registrants, we won't be able to hold the class -- in that case, your "nonrefundable" deposit will be cheerfully refunded.

Course Schedule, Location & Dates: This course will be held at St. Anne’s-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, 147 Concord Rd., Lincoln, MA 01773

The dates for this course are as follows:

2009 - Sept. 19, Oct. 10, Nov. 14, and Dec. 12

2010 - Jan. 9, Feb. 13, March 13, April 10, May 8 and June 12

Formation Leaders: Carol Godfrey and The Rev. Joyce Scherer-Hoock.

Ms. Carol Godfrey is currently a Catechist at Trinity Church in Randolph. She holds a Master of Education in Early Childhood and works with early childhood programs seeking national accreditation / credentialing. Carol has taught all levels from birth to grade 5, but her expertise is with preschool and kindergarten. She is also experienced in teaching adults as a former college instructor and a Level I Formation Leader, certified by the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.

The Rev. Joyce Scherer-Hoock is the Director of Spiritual Formation at St. Anne’s in Lincoln. Joyce has a Masters of Divinity as well as an undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies. She has been an Episcopal priest for 18 years. Before ordination, she taught high potential learning-disabled adolescents at Landmark School. She loves material making and often works "catechesis presentations" into sermons and adult classes. The National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd certifies Joyce as a Level 1, 2 and 3 Formation Leader.
